Student Research Presentations at the 2015 CMS Summer Meeting

The Canadian Mathematical Society Student Committee (CMS Studc) invites students to present a talk on a topic of their choice June 7-8th at the Undergraduate Student Research Presentations Session or June 8th at the Graduate Student Research Presentations Session during the 2015 CMS Summer Meeting in Charlottetown, P.E.I.

These presentations should introduce the student’s research to a general mathematical audience. If requested by the presenter, an experienced mentor will be available to provide feedback on the talk.

Any questions about the student sessions should be directed to the undergraduate student session organizer, Nathan Musoke, at studc-summer15-undergrad@cms.math.ca, or the graduate student session organizer, Svenja Huntemann, at studc-summer15-grad@cms.math.ca.

To register for either session, contact the organizer of the corresponding session with a draft abstract by April 15th.

Presenters will also have to register for the meeting. Student members of the CMS who are presenting a poster or talk have significantly reduced registration costs ($30 until April 10th, $45 thereafter). If you are not currently a member of the CMS, talk to your department chair about the possibility of becoming a university-sponsored student member for a reduced fee.

There is a limited amount of travel support available for graduate students. The deadline for applications to this fund is on March 15th. Travel funds are also available to non-local speakers in the undergraduate session. More information on both funds can be found on the conference website.
